Domestic Battery
NOT GUILTY
555 W. Harrison Room 401
Our client’s wife told the police that her husband came to her home, choked her with both hands on her neck, threw her on the sofa, and threatened to kill her. He was charged with a domestic battery. At trial, I proved that the wife waited a day to go to the police and that there was no injury visible to the reporting officer. At trial the wife tried to exaggerate her injury. I called the reporting officer to prove that she was lying. Not Guilty.

Chicago Police Officers Hoffman and Savage detained our client after he pulled into a tire shop on Division near Cicero. Officer Savage told the judge that he heard a radio transmission of a person with a gun in the area. At a motion to suppress evidence, Attorney Levinsohn proved that the officers had no right to search our client’s car and the gun found was suppressed. The case was dismissed.

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
DISMISSED
Skokie Room 206
An Evanston Police officer pulled our client over because she was using her cell phone while driving. The officer then claimed that he smelled cannabis so he searched her car and found a gun in her purse and the cannabis inside a locked safe in the back of the car. At a motion to suppress I proved that the officer lied about smelling cannabis from a locked safe. He should have given her a ticket for using the phone and let her go instead of searching the car. Motion granted. Case dismissed
