Michael J. Levinsohn

Michael-J-Levinsohn-Chicago-Criminal-Defense-Lawyer

Since graduating from Tulane University Law School in 1994, I have been a practicing criminal defense attorney in Chicago. Before the death penalty was abolished in Illinois, I was certified as an attorney qualified to defend capital cases. In addition to being allowed to practice in state courts, I am a member of the federal court trial bar and have tried cases in Chicago federal court. I am also a member of 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and have argued cases before that court here in Chicago.

I concentrate on criminal cases in Chicago and Cook County. I learn about and know the judges and prosecutors that will be handling your case. I do this so I can craft your defense to be the most effective for the courtroom in which it is pending.

I am not a former prosecutor. I have never falsely accused someone of a crime or tried to put someone in prison who deserved a break. I have never sold anyone out because of my friendship with a former co-worker. These are some of the potential pitfalls of hiring a “former prosecutor.” Because I have always been a defense attorney, I fight these cases to get the best result for you.
