Chicago Police had a search warrant for Mr. C’s home near 121st and Bishop. During the search they found a .25 caliber semi-automatic, digital scale, plastic baggies, hydrocodone, and cannabis. At trial I showed the court that the target of the search warrant was Mr. C’s brother-in-law who was visiting from out of town. By the end of the case it was clear that Mr. C did not know that his brother-in-law had the guns and drugs hidden in his home. Not Guilty.

False Claim of Choking & Slapping 222

Firm Case Number: 2013-DM-222
Domestic Battery
NOT GUILTY

Mr. T’s wife accused him of hitting her with a broom. At trial she made new allegations that he choked her, slapped her, pushed up against a door, pulled her hair and kicked her. I subpoenaed the police officer who took the initial report and one of Mr. T’s children who saw everything. I put the police officer on the stand to prove that the wife had lied on the stand. The judge found Mr. T not guilty before I had to put his daughter on the stand.

People v. Confidential 220

Firm Case Number: 2013-02-220
Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
DISMISSED

Skokie Courthouse
An Evanston Police officer pulled Ms. A over because she was using her cell phone while driving. The officer then claimed that he smelled cannabis so he searched her car and found a gun in her purse and the cannabis inside a locked safe in the back of the car. At a motion to suppress, I proved that the officer lied about smelling cannabis from a locked safe. He should have given her a ticket for using the phone and let her go instead of searching the car. Motion granted.
