Unlawful Use of a Weapon
DISMISSED
26th & California, Chicago
Chicago Police Officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of State and 75th Street. Mr. B was a passenger. During the stop the driver gave officers permission to search the car. The officers did not have permission to search Mr. B’s suitcase in the trunk. The officers went into the suitcase and found two .380 semi-automatic pistols. At a motion to suppress, I proved to the judge that the offices did not have permission to search the suitcase on a simple traffic stop and the guns were suppressed. Case dismissed.
