Unlawful Use of a Weapon
26th & California, Chicago
Chicago Police Officers were working in a deployment action zone in the area of a recent shooting. Officers claimed that when they saw Mr. R they recognized him as a gang member. They stopped and questioned him without probable cause. He then admitted that he had ammunition on him which the officers recovered. I proved to the judge that the search was unlawful and the evidence was suppressed. Case dismissed.
